You can't order a LEAF from Nissan anymore
An era has ended
Herm - CleanMPG - June 14, 2012
Your haggling job at the dealership just got a bit harder. --Ed.
As of June 14, you must purchase a LEAF like any other car, directly from the dealer.. no longer will the customer control the allocation of what dealer gets the car. Note that not every dealer is certified to sell the LEAF.

Re: You cant order a LEAF from Nissan anymore
Now, Nissan dealers can find the answer to the important question "How much CAN I squeeze out of my customer ?" The other day I noticed that our friendly local Toyota dealer had a few Scion FR-S's with $5879 additional (mostly bogus) options installed . And the Prius c had about $3000 of paint sealant, tire nitrogen and other creative profit centers.
The good news is ; more Leafs on the road.

Re: You can't order a LEAF from Nissan anymore
FWIW the dealers around here have been discounting the Leaf from day one. No dealer packs, no markups, just get them off the truck and to the new owner at a lower than MSRP and on to the next happy customer as quickly as possible. Discount number always 5 to 7% off. So start there
