Re: Week of June 11th - June 17th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.62)
A bunch of shopping stops around town in the 100 degree heat today. Didn't feel that hot to me. Didn't need the a/c.
8.85 mi @ 115.8 wh/mi = 289.8 MPGe
Need to see 112 wh/mi to break 300 and I just don't think I'm driving the SOC down far enough to allow my controller to capture all the regen. Going to put off charging and work on this number some more tomorrow. Traffic was nice today so it might be a bust. Don't think I'm complaining about these super numbers I'm just so close I can feel a 300 in there.

You're a lot more likely to hit that mark than I, Mike!!

Re: Week of June 11th - June 17th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.62)
Fist Bump for Dennis!
Yesterday:
Work to ASI and the green parking spot.
61.8 -- 11.5 miles (74f -- slight cross wind).
ASI -- Home via customer, lunch stop, golf course
54.2 -- 54.4 miles (81f -- slight head to crosswind, time pressure)
Left the house at 6:15 this AM to have plenty of time to make it in to work before heading to a customer's event. No traffic, I was able to keep it under 30mph the first two miles to let the car get warm and then held -15 to -8 the psl dwl the rest of the way to a new home to work PR and just three tenths shy of 75mpg, after my 1.7mpg correction.
home to work 74.7 -- 30.1 miles (64f, light tail to cross wind)

Re : Week of June 11th - June 17th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.62)
AATG: thx
This morning: - 11.5mi @ 73.1mpgUS to mall
- 12.1mi @ 68.4mpgUS 26°C=78°F
Day: 23.7mi @ 70.5mpgUS
Tank: 842.5mi @ 65.0mpgUS (+0.2)
The surprise this morning is that I had always 2 pip on P2's gauge and they stayed up to the mall ie 830.2mi
The last pip disappeared before 745.8mi so it last 84.4mi (ie 88.7mpgUS with 1pip=0.951gal)
Also the 1st pip disappeared before 298.3mi so the last 8 pip last 531.9mi (ie 69.9mpgUS )
When I started the Prius before going back home there was only one pip => I should drive 160mi (at 67.2mpgUS) and reach 990 mi.
I thought my SG2 was under-reporting FE by 2%, it may be 4-5%...
I have that good feeling I may reach my 1st kilotank sooner than I thought...
Denis.

Re: Week of June 11th - June 17th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.62)
It's hot today. The car's temp gauge was telling me it is in the mid-90s. Took Da Wife out for lunch and a mailbox run. AC off from home to lunch, but on from lunch to mailbox and mailbox home.
The AC has a significant impact! I managed just under 60 MPG on the run out to lunch, which includes the initial start. I only managed in the 40s for the run from lunch to the mailbox and from the mailbox home. Idle LOD measurement with the AC on was about 28; I am used to seeing about 17 for warmed-up idle.
I dropped off Da Wife at home and ran the next set of errands, which were shorter trips. I turned off the AC and opened up the windows. All three segments of that trip were in the 50s; the longest segment (bank to home) was over 53 MPG.
That's a surprising hit, to me, for AC. I'll make sure to minimize AC use in the future!

Re: Week of June 11th - June 17th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.62)
It was a cool 106F here today so I put off any driving until the sun was gone. That means it is necessary to have the lights on which pretty much took care of any improvement in the over all numbers for this charge.
final
13.1 mi @ 120.84 wh/mi = 277.71 MPGe
These numbers are coming pretty consistently, so if you want to see big improvements in your mpg I highly recommend shedding nearly 500 pounds of weight.
Battery management numbers have been at the extreme end of tight tolerance, cell variation less than 100th of a volt. So for the next few days I need to use a bit more power and see if the balance is equally good when not being driven in hypermiling mode.

Re: Week of June 11th - June 17th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.62)
My trip to and from a home church closer to home (my regulars on their way back from Brazil) fared rather well, which is helped by lighter traffic on Sundays. Tank average is not as high as it could be. A little wimpy plus trips with wifey and/or kid required A/C at times, not to mention driving in the downpours necessitated a clear windshield.
51.5 / 3.8 home to church
49.6 / 4.1 church to home
40.7 / 461.9 DTE 228.7 needle just over 3/8 tank mark

Re: Week of June 11th - June 17th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.62)
I see. Then our 31C (88F) yesterday isn't really hot OK
But we still had to go to a beach. At a small lake we've never been to.
85km (53mi) each way, both bikes finished their tanks during this trip.
My new tank with Teresa is better again, despite the rain and lack of key-off FASes - maybe that short route isn't that bad. I still like the other much better. The numbers:
2.81l/100km ~ 83.8 US mpg, 10% 2-up.
The hot weather expected to remain for the week, I hope I can improve my FE. And I'd like to see a tank over 90mpg this year, I used to have a few.
edit. forgot the morning trip to work, "nice" route, 20C / 68F, ~16% FAS. And I'm afraid I've killed a tiny bird with my motorcycle propelled right boot, I'm so sorry
(Probably a great tit. OMG, how can a little bird be called like this??? )

Re: Week of June 11th - June 17th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.62)
Sunday: - 12.6mi @ 73.4mpgUS 23°C=73°F
- 13.9mi @ 65.6mpgUS 26°C=78°F
Day: 26.5mi @ 69.0mpgUS
Tank: 869.5mi @ 65.1mpgUS (+0.1)
Sadly this morning a few miles after start, the P2 beeped with 25mi in advance : fill-up required... So no kilotank for me. I should reach 966.7.
Someone on a French Prius forum reached the kilotank Yesterday following my (and your) advices, but his MFD is showing 3.6L/100 (~ 63mpgUS) while mine is at 3.4L/100 (~ 67mpgUS). I'll do a better fill-up job Wednesday.
Denis.
