Re: Week of May 21st - May 27th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.76)
Still on track to whoop my max tank average I see, Larry!
I had an interesting drive home today. I left work a bit early to take care of a dryer vent replacement at the townhouse because the existing one wasn't up to code. Or so I was told because it had a grate over the end (which catches lint -- 3" thick in this case -- and poses a fire hazard). According to the inspector I need one which has a flap in it. So, I head over there after work with the vent (of proper description) I purchased yesterday only to find that under the grate... is a flap. So... no swap -- which is fine by me because the way that vent was attached it would have been a bear to remove. I left it without the grate on and hopped back into the car.
So, already off my normal route I headed home and cut back over to the regular route part way back to the house so I could pick up a surprise treat for the wonderful wife (who has been working WAY too hard recently).
72F, no wind, sunny:
- 6.7mpk over 5.7mi --> 224.9 MPGe (Work to townhouse)
- 5.6mpk over 4.3mi --> 187.9 MPGe (Townhouse to donut shop)
- 7.0mpk over 5.5mi --> 234.9 MPGe (Donut shop to home)
Day Total: 6.4mpk over 30.2mi --> 214.8 MPGe
Total Usage: 4.7 kWh
Adj. Cost: $0.68
Any more over the top EV driving, Mike?

I'm trying anyway. It's kind of odd being in this territory. If I were to look at just the text of what I've typed and not at who posted it, I would swear I was looking at stuff you had written. I guess my car is getting more in touch with it's inner Blue Swayed.

Awhile back, I got a hint when we had the 80+ temps. I had several days where the day total was 130+.

Here it is
I got home before the rain, despite the two shopping stops on the way (a supermarket that proved useless when I want local groceries - what an IDIOT import ONIONS from AUSTRALIA???? ), and a small store in the village along the 'nice' route. It was supposed to be closed by then, but the shopkeeper was still there, working.
I really got some tailwind, and it was warm, around 25C / 77F. Idokep.hu shows a slight head/cross wind, but it was so weak I didn't feel anything.
Morning: 16-18C / 61-64F, raining. I took the short route, cutting my initial FAS in half, and went on some ridge riding practice. There's a leg (between the village and the nearby mine) that's incredibly slippery in the slightest rain, so I didn't really P&G there.

Larry, you're doing a fantastic job -- I couldn't ask for a nicer guy to take down my records.
For anyone interested, here's the profile for my (to) work route:
The reverse is nearly identical -- there's a 0.3mi addition (bypass change) to the section right at the beginning of the graph.

I love this kind of stuff, here's mine for route to work:

The best coasts (or FAS if I'm on my own!) are at 12, 13 and 18 miles
No driving for me again today - car pooling.

Re: Week of May 21st - May 27th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.76)
Thx Alvaro
Here is my "to work through fast road", aka the "default GPS navigator road", picture :
90km/h=56mph from mi 2 to mi 20, with a 110km/h=68mph stretch to go uphill from mi 6 to mi 7.
I get better MPG on the way back
Will try to have the currently used road, but the software is rather picky to use.
Denis.

No commute for me today as I'm working from home to assist in some maintenance around the house and a re-inspection of the townhouse.
