Re: Week of May 14th - May 20th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.76)
Went to allotment this morning in the FR-V. Don't usually go in the car but I had a load of stuff to take up and youngest daughter came too. Managed loads of FAS going, cold 45°F, P&G'd like crazy!:
70.1 / 1.6
40.6 / 1.6 going back home later, 54°F, got stopped by some temporary lights on an uphill section
Tank steady at 49.9 / 513.3 / 251
Went to a christening in the Jazz/Fit this afternoon, 54°F, 3UP then 2UP, hilly route, no FAS, responded really well to low speed, DWL up hills, DWB and DFCO downhill along with loads of coast in 'N' on less steep sections:
58.8 / 48.6miles there and back including a stop each way at parents to drop off youngest daughter

Around here, lots of ticks makes a place a no-go area. Lyme disease is nasty.

Re: Week of May 14th - May 20th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.76)
The sun and moon are going to align this evening for a near total eclipse in our area. The traffic and lights aligned on my shopping run this morning.
If this wasn't a PR it is as good as I remember. PSL is 25 and 30 mph on this familiar route. Near perfect speed for runs like this.
4.6 mi
125.6 Wh/mi
267.4 MPGe
2.1 mi (A 0.5 degree average downslope with a street light in the middle, light was green.) I suspect non hypermilers don't see the grade.
98 wh/mi
342.4 MPGe
3.7 mi
126.1 wh/mi
266.3 MPGe
Cumulative
10.4 mi
120.15 wh/mi
279.3 MPGe
Will be interesting to see if I can do this with the lithium batteries. Glad I pumped up the tires the other day.

Money-- Let's just say I'm not thrilled with the selection of the campground...there were people who knew and did not warn. That being said, with the warmer winters and springs it may be hard to find a tickless environment within hundereds of miles of here. We got it em in the woods behind the house ... just not in that number.

We took the kids to Chuck'E'Cheese and ended up there late enough I had to take the highway back.
60F down, 8mph crosswind from the NNW, sunny,
52F back, no wind, clear:
- 5.5mpk over 7.1mi --> 184.6 MPGe (Home to CEC)
- 4.6mpk over 9.2mi --> 154.4 MPGe (CEC to bank to home with a bit of defrost)
Day Total: 5.0mpk over 19mi --> 167.8 MPGe
Total Usage: 3.8 kWh
Adj. Cost: $0.55

That's one advantage to having Fire Ants: no more ticks. I remember ticks very well from growing up in the Texas country. In the 10 years I've been back I haven't seen a single one. Now, the fire ants are nasty creatures, but you can generally avoid them by watching your step.
