Re: Week of May 14th - May 20th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.76)
a good day and a bad day.
Driving from Rochester NY home, not in a hurry.
3 construction zones in Ohio so I decide to go thru Ontario instead, besides it shaves about 60 miles off the trip.
Again, not in a hurry, so I'm running 60 ish mph all the way.
Rochester NY to the border scangauge is show 28+
All the way across Ontario Scangauge is showing 28+ for avg.
Then I hit Sarnia.
Noone told me it was a holiday weekend for Canada and half the country was going into Michigan.
1.5 + hours crawling thru customs line. I was shutting it off as much as I could and even getting honked at for leaving too much of a gap as the guy in front of me crawled away. Sucked watching the avg drop so much.
Was almost a perfect day for a great mpg #. Great temps, didnt run the A/C till after 1PM, going 60 the whole way cause I'm not in any rush.
Oh well, next time

Re: Week of May 14th - May 20th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.76)
I'm not actually a member over at MyNissanLeaf (yet). I've seen higher numbers over there but almost always they are the result of a downhill run somewhere, not for round trips as I've been doing.
Too bad, James!!
Had to run the AC for the family while we were out and about but fortunately this unit seems to be pretty efficient.
Started at 88F and ended up at 80F, average of 14mph wind from the S, sunny to dark with the headlights on:
- 5.2mpk over 3.3mi --> 174.5 MPGe (Home to restaurant)
- 4.9mpk over 0.8mi --> 164.4 MPGe (Restaurant to Target)
- 5.1mpk over 8.1mi --> 171.2 MPGe (Target to donut shop to closed pharmacy which used to be open 24/7
to home)
Day Total: 6.3mpk over 42mi --> 211.4 MPGe
Total Usage: 6.7 kWh
Adj. Cost: $0.96

James: That sucks I'd hate to see a perfect looking day to make my best ever tank, ruined. It feels awful to crawl too
I can't really comment Sean's number. Alvaro and me both lean back and wait what will happen in the future.

Re: Week of May 14th - May 20th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.76)
Guilty!!! I knew the tires were due for a pressure check. I usually run them about 3 above the 44 psi door sticker. I assumed that they were likely at sticker by now but they were all 37-38 psi. Fixed that about 1/2 way through this drive. The glide certainly picked up.
11.2 mi
136.8 wh/mi
245.3 MPGe
Weather is great BTW. Low 70's no wind during the drives. Nasty pollen count-Walnuts in particular.
Gas is still going up around here

Re: Week of May 14th - May 20th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.76)
Dropped daughter off this morning at her new weekend job in the Jazz followed by a trip to the shops, 54.3 over 25.4miles.
Spent hours clearing out the loft of the garage and completely filled up the car with loads of junk. My 6 seater was turned into a 1 seater :lol:
Went to the tip, it was cold, only 46°F, had a great run going, loads of FAS:
63.3 / 3.5
46.0 / 3.2 Back from tip, shorter route, busy.
Tank up 0.1 to 49.9 / 510.1 / DTE254

Re: Week of May 14th - May 20th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.76)
Finishing yesterday:
Work to golf coarse into a heavy, hot head to quartering wind...bad route selection.
59.2 -- 18.8 miles
Golfing: infinity -- hoofed around the track with my bag on my back.
Golf back to work with same wind pushing this time, great route.
73.4 -- 14 miles.
Work to boy scout camping pick-up, still with wind at my back.
64.2 -- 32.1 miles.
Loaded with 3 boy scouts and gear, still with wind at my back but on the interstate (dwl 53-67mph, light AC - told the boys they had to be tough) to tick infested camping spot:
62.3 -- 90 miles -- last few over a dirt road.
Today:
Tick feeding facility to home: slow 37 -- 55mph dwl/dwb over county highways (wife working, daughter at friend's, boy still serving as tick feed...could take my time) into a 20+ head to quartering wind:
64.5 -- 77.1 miles (6 ticks removed while driving -- over 20 for the day total)  .
Too much driving and too many strange wilderness experiences this week (plus 19 miles pounded over over my running trails, I'm whipped)...car's staying in the garage and other than biking to the grocery store in a bit I'm on the couch the rest of the day.

Re: Week of May 14th - May 20th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.76)
Fueled the bike yesterday 43.86 mpg (lost receipt) at around 175 miles. I would say that this indicates that my last refill was short, but I put the windscreen back on just after I filled last time and think it may have lowered my mpgs.

Re: Week of May 14th - May 20th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.76)
Great work, all!!
I had some minor running around to do today and got caught out in the rain for the last trip.

83F, 22mph crosswind from the S, sunny:
- 6.2mpk over 3.1mi --> 208.1 MPGe (Community center to restaurant for lunch with the in-laws, windows down instead of AC)
86F, 16mph cross/tailwind from the SSW, sunny:
- 5.4mpk over 12.9mi --> 181.2 MPGe (Restaurant to pharmacy to home, some AC)
76F, 11mph crosswind from the WSW, overcast with wet roads:
- 6.4mpk over 1.5mi --> 214.8 MPGe (Home to restaurant for dinner, headlights on)
66F, 11mph crosswind from the NNW, raining:
- 5.5mpk over 2.8mi --> 184.6 MPGe (Restaurant to bank to home with wipers, lights, and occasional defrost)
Day Total: 5.4mpk over 29.6mi --> 181.2 MPGe
Total Usage: 5.5 kWh
Adj. Cost: $0.79

AATG,
12.85 miles per tick while driving. That might be a cleanmpg record that goes unchallenged.
Hope they were all crawlers and not chewing.

I had to pluck a few out of my skin, one decently imbeded yesterday am. Found two more crawlers after my post. Im sure there are more in the car that will find me on the way to work tomorrow...hopefully not at a record rate.
