Honda voted as top choice in Consumer Reports’ Auto Guide

[Saturday, April 1, 2006 11:07:00 am]

Trading Enterprises has announced the inclusion of five Honda models in Consumer Reports’ Top Ten Auto Picks for 2006, a leading US vehicle-buying guide.

“Consumer Reports is one of the most reliable vehicle-buying guides, and for Honda models, including the Civic, Accord and Odyssey, to be featured in its Top Picks for 2006 list is a matter of great pride,” said Guy Edmunds, Sales & Marketing Manager for Trading Enterprises – Honda. “This report supports Honda’s all-round high standards and the great driving experience offered to its customers”.

Consumer Reports, published by Consumers Union, is a non-profit advocacy group in the United States. Its annual car-buying guide is based on tests of more than 200 models, covering performance, comfort, safety and fuel economy, of which the ‘Top Picks’ are recommended models and all-round high performers.

This leading US vehicle-buying guide picked its top choice in ten different vehicle categories, with all the major American carmakers were taken over by Japanese models, which had higher test scores, reliability and crash protection. Of the Top Ten Picks, Honda had five models chosen by Consumer Reports as the top performers in their respective class. The Honda Civic, Honda Accord and Acura TL were the magazine’s top choices for low and mid-priced sedans, while the Honda Ridgeline and Honda Odyssey were picked as top choices for pickup truck and minivans respectively. Of the five Honda models that were voted in the vehicle-buying guide, the Civic, Accord and Odyssey are currently available at all Trading Enterprises – Honda showrooms across the UAE.

The annual auto issue of Consumer Reports also includes a list of problematic used-car models, of which, none of the Honda models were included, reflecting their high performance and reliability, whether brand-new or used.
