Re: Week of April 9th - April 15th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.95)
I left a bit early to stop by a jewelry store on the way home (5yr Anniversary approaching!). The wind was heavy but into my rear, passenger side corner so it wasn't as helpful as you might think... all my deviations from due North (and there are quite a few of them) really hurt. Plus, it began raining as I left the store.
Oh well, Friday traffic and environment being what it is I did pretty well.
54F, 23-38mph cross/tailwind from the SE, rainy:
- 96.8mpg for 4.2mi (Work to jewelry store)
- 112.0mpg for 11.5mi (Jewelry store to home)
The tank is steady at 106.2mpg over 463.9mi with 14 of 20 bars remaining on the fuel gauge.
Day Total: 109.9mpg over 30.8mi
I took a look at the forecast and it seems we are in for a snow shower on Monday. Blech.
Have a wonderful weekend, all!!

Re: Week of April 9th - April 15th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.95)
Yesterday, 81 mpg over a 76 mile loop from Hodges to Greenwood, to Antreville to Abbeville and back to Hodges stopping at 6 destinations. Temp in the 60's F. Speeds at PSL (35 to 55 mph).
Today, 47 mpg on a 1/2 mile loop to the mailbox at the end of my gravel road and back. Temp in the 70's F. Speed 20 to 30 mph. Bested my mileage on my last trip on this route by 9 mpg.

Had heavy traffic for the first 20 miles which allowed only DWL. Made nice recovery though.
55.6/55.1 miles 65F soft crosswind.

Re : Week of April 9th - April 15th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.95)
During yesterday highway trip, I found a bug in MPG trip calculation in Torque.
When I change from my main screen to another and come back to the main screen, the Trip MPG average increases, even if instant FE is lower during that time.
I didn't fill-up yet after my highway trip. From MFD I went from 215.5km @ 3,6L/100 to 745.6km @ 3.8L/100. I went from 3,5L/100 to 3,6 during my last daily commute before the highway trip and from 3,9L/100 to 3,8 during the last minutes of the highway trip, so at worst I drove 530.1km @ 4.022L/100 ie 329.5mi @ 58.48mpgUS.
Sadly yesterday evening no tail wind. Temps at 7-14°C = 44-57°F. Only rain, crazy people and very high traffic. It took me 30 minutes to enter the city and 45 minutes to leave it with 6 bars (each one about 5 minutes) over 10L/100 ie under 25mpgUS...
Denis.

Wasn't planning on driving today, but I had to run some boots down the In-Laws house.
56.2/3.7 miles @ 59F and a cold engine. I think I'm getting better at the short trips.

Diesel is still 3.859 where I fill up in IN. Put in another $380 today.

Much better on the traffic lights today, but still room for improvement. City has all the lights on traffic sensors which is nice but you never know exactly how to time them. If you are not in the priority direction you can count on stopping when solo in the lane.
Nice weather, sunny no wind.

Re: Week of April 9th - April 15th, 2012 (Nat Avg $3.95)
Yesterday we went to Budapest to an anime meet, no cosplay this time, but Teresa had the new sticker
It was drizzling then slightly raining on the second half on the way there. We both filled up the bikes, my tank with Teresa became disappointingly (but not surprisingly) bad: the average consumption is above the 3l/100km mark again. (3.07l/100km ~ 76.49mpgUS). Weak accelerations, leaving P&G, seldom hitting 5th gear couldn't do any good to FE.
This new tank got a 'nice' leg of stop&crawl inside Budapest, with badly timed lights and hectic traffic.

Needed to come over to school today (on a Sunday) because I need access to some journal articles which are not yet in the online database, plus I work better away from the distractions of home.
53.6/55.3 miles @ 63F mild winds.

Home again, got caught in a downpour just after I left school.
53.8/55.2 miles school to home @65F with wet roads and a 15 minute downpour.
