2012 European Toyota Yaris – Better everything.
The third generation Toyota Yaris with more performance, possibly better fuel economy and a much improved ergonomics layout is clearly evident.
Toyota’s Yaris was designed around the idiom of “compact outside, spacious inside” and the new Yaris proves Toyota continues to improve upon the original.
In addition, the Yaris will be Toyota’s first foray into an affordable multimedia connectivity with the introduction of Toyota Touch & Go in Europe. Due to be standard equipment on 95 percent of the lineup, it features a 6.1-inch display with touch screen technology for ease of use and functionality.
The European Yaris will be manufactured at Toyota’s Valenciennes factory in France and has been R&D’ed to deliver the impeccable Toyota build quality. Inside, high quality materials and surface finishes have been used, and there is a
more driver-focused cockpit. Finally!
Some of the highlights include the driver oriented instrument cluster that is finally located in the center of the drivers field of view, steering wheel audio and BT phone controls, auto dimming mirror, an honest to goodness center armrest and Scion like detailed piping accents on the upgraded leather seats.
Lowlights? It appears that the third generation Yaris will maintain the world’s cheapest mechanical and clunky feeling A/C controls and the rear C-Pillar looks as if it was copied from a 90’s era VW Rabbit.
2012 Toyota Yaris Interior

In Europe, the land of the diesel, there will be three different Toyota Optimal Drive powertrains available including the 1.0L VVT-i and 1.33L dual VVT-i gasoline engines and Toyota’s own 1.4L D-4D turbo diesel.
Toyota’s all-new B-Segment offering is said to provide new levels of ingenuity, fuel efficiency and quality which in turn should help Toyota rejuvenate its presence in Europe.
What we will see here remains a question mark but expect the new upgraded interior appointments to dominate the conversation when it is finally released into the U.S. marketplace.
