Re: Anyone try an FAS on the CRZ?
Would you care to go into more detail about "Philly area?" I work in Allentown...

I live in the wee little town of Ambler. ~45 min south of Allentown, depending on how slow you drive

Welcome to CleanMpg, and a nice choice of a vehicle. I live in Perkasie, very close to Ambler. Do you happen to know Nathan, who drives an older Insight, and an electric Sparrow?

Re: Anyone try an FAS on the CRZ?
I know where both of you are, but you're WAY out of my area. Then again, so is working in Allentown. Attempting to get a job that's only 11-14 miles from home, instead of the 67.6 (each way) that my current commute is...I'd love a CR-Z, but I spend so much on gas that I can't afford the car payment! Even with a more efficient car, I don't think I'd break even. Especially if I get this job near home.

67.6 miles each way!? great googamooga. I thought my 20 mile commute was too much. I look forward to the day that I can bike to work!

Re: Anyone try an FAS on the CRZ?
It'd be nice. The rolling hills in my area prevent that quite readily, unless you are withing maybe 2 miles of home. Any further, and you're looking at a good, sweaty climb to get to work.

Tip: Turn off auto lock. Makes FAS much less noisy

E-bike. For short commutes a cheap one should take care of the uphills.

Re: Anyone try an FAS on the CRZ?
I turned off the auto unlock to quiet the FAS, but it was really annoying when I actually had to unlock my doors before opening them. I find that NICE-ON coasting is almost effective as FAS, so far I've noticed only 2-3 mpg gains using FAS. Of course things might change after the first oil change.
BTW- E-Bikes defeat the purpose of biking to work (at least from the fitness side of it)
