Where to mount a SGII on a Prius II

Anyone care to share where they mounted thier SGII in thier PriusII? Any Pics?

A) I'm thinking of putting mine on the inside door to the little compartment under the radio. Then when I'm using it, I just flip open the door.

B) Next option would just be to mount it inside that bay behind the door kinda like the XM radio is hooked up in some Prii.

C) Next thought would be on the part of "wall" in front of the cup front cup holders, where the two pieces of molded plastic meet.

D) Don't think there is room between the rear view mirror and the top of the car for that nifty mounting bracket I saw.

E) Another option is in the sunglass holder case.

Let me know what you think.

Re: Where to mount a SGII on a Prius II

I velcroed my SGI right on top of the dash, just to the right of the wheel. It's a good spot if you want to keep your eye on the instant feedback. The other option I've used is low on the center stack, below the radio and storage compartment. (Dual Lock fasteners work well...found some at Target.) That's not nearly as good for instant feedback but it does keep the unit within arm's reach for checking your stats.

Re: Where to mount a SGII on a Prius II

I have mine in the same place as brick's. In addition to being able to quickly eyeball it alone, I can easily shift line of sight between it, the MFD, and the speedometer, allowing me to monitor some of the rapid-fire changes occurring in the ICE and hybrid system, notably RPM and energy consumption on the MFD. The cable runs straight down to the OBDII jack with the excess coiled around the windshield wiper stalk.

Ditto what Brick & JimboK said. My monitor watching is a bit risky enough as it is. Line of sight is good.

I've got mine velcro'd on the dash right above the MFD, angled toward me a bit. With it there I can glance at the MFD and have the SG in peripheral vision, or vice versa. See my post in this week's daily grind for a pic.

I have mine where brick, JimboK, and mparrish have theirs. I did hide my wire a little though. See here.
