1934 BMW R7 Prototype... Incredible!

Found on the 'Net:

Va-Va-Voom!

A single copy was crafted in 1934 by design engineer Alfred Bφning. His vision was a
departure from the "bicycle with motor" design still prevalent in the 1930s. The R7
incorporated sweeping enclosed bodywork, a pressed steel frame, valanced mudguards
and then-innovative telescopic front forks.

More info and pix.

You could put that up against any modern custom chopper. It's compact and understated, yet flamboyant at the same time. Clean and smooth, yet intricate and gaudy.

Re: 1934 BMW R7 Prototype... Incredible!

Yep, it shows the flavor of the aero industrial design of the age:

Number 4468 Mallard is a LNER Class A4 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive
built in the 1930s and designed by Gresley. A wind-tunnel tested,
aerodynamic body allowed it to reach speeds of over 100mph.

And a dash of:

"Big wheels keep on turnin'... "
