Road Rager - Oct 8, 2010
Friday afternoon rush hour, and I'm merging into the freeway.
One young hothead does not know in the civilized world you allow every other car off the access to merge in gridlock traffic but of course he does not play by any rules. After 200 yards, I merged and reacted like I did something to his first-born. Stalked me for five miles, even hypermiled ahead of me wanting to fight, clueless I drive that way. I took pictures if needed. Finally stopped stalking at a freeway split....I was getting ready to find the closest police station.
If I was like him, every ten minutes my honor would be violated.

I get a laugh out of people like that. There they sit in front of us brake checking us or what not, and we have already anticipated their actions and have planned for it before they can do anything to affect us.
Reminds me of a few times when people have tailgated me, zipped around, and brake checked me. But, what they fail to realize is that they are too far ahead of me and going too fast to affect me when they tap the brakes.

Re: Road Rager - Oct 8, 2010
I had an idiot like that on Friday as well. Driving on a 25 mph road, doing precisely 25 and he comes barreling up behind me, tailgates, honks his horn, I just gently continued on. There was a light ahead and if he was in that much of a rush he'd make it up on the freeway on-ramp.
No such luck, he was continuing on up the same road as me, still tailgating me and I'm just determined to stay at the limit. Especially because the police like to hang out on some of the curves nailing speeders. It's uphill, twisty, and there's a double yellow line. As we approach one curve, he roars around me, almost gets into a head-on collision with an oncoming car before jumping back into the travel lane, cutting me off in the process. Of course the moment he started his move I jumped off the accelerator.
Almost a shame he didn't smack into that oncoming car, or that he couldn't have waited the 30 seconds it would have taken to reach a place where I could have pulled aside to let him pass. Nope, he had to floor his guzzler (one of those big pickups that just slurps fuel, especially when you kick it), and show me. Sigh. Oh well, I just motored the rest of the way up.
