Re: 2012 Prius MPV
Don't take this the wrong way, but is that real?

Re: 2012 Prius MPV
Hi Nevyn:
Yes, it is real and is confirmed for launch within the Prius family lineup coming soon. A Vibe/Matrix like form factor but a bit larger and more along the lines of a Venza.
Good Luck
Wayne

Re: 2012 Prius MPV
My apologies; I should have clarified a little more. I know the "Prius Alpha" is real; I was referring to just the billboard.
However, I have since learned that it IS official (from the Prius Facebook page) so that answers that.

Re: 2012 Prius MPV
I can imagine Honda executives crying about this every time I see one of those new Odyssey commercials.
2012 commercials:
Honda Odyssey: never mind the efficiency, feel the width.

Re: 2012 Prius MPV
Oh MAN. This is too awesome! Now I'm eagerly awaiting announcement of pricing (yes, I know I'll be waiting a while. That's OK).

Yes, pricing, fuel economy, and how many people can the thing carry.

Re: 2012 Prius MPV
Hi Justin:
It's a 7-passenger MPV HEV with a proposed starting price of $29,650. It will come in two variants. A PHEV-18 using a Panasonic EV Sourced 7.6 kWh Li-Ion pack and a std. Prius MPV HEV w/ a 1.6 kWh NiMH pack. Both with Toyota’s latest atkinsonized 2.5L ICE. The HEV will be rated at 33 mpg combined on the 08 EPA and with the included 19 gallon tank, have a range of almost 630 miles.
Along with flat fold and stow capability, the rear set of seats can be stood on end to allow taller items to be carried upright.
If you need any more details, I can make them up as fast as you request
Wayne

Re: 2012 Prius MPV
Wow, a PHEV, too? I hope that option ends up trickling down throughout the entire Toyota hybrid lineup.
I don't know why, but a soccer mom plugging in her seven-passenger minivan seems funny to me.
Wayne, have they released the proposed price for the PHEV model?

Haha, we can all dream.
Anyways there's definitely a market for a car like that.
