RPM to MPH in 6th Gear

1 Rev of the crank = [(Pi)*(Rear Tire diameter in inches)]/[(Internal gear ratio)*(Transmission sixth gear ratio)*(Shaft Drive gear reduction)]

1 Rev = [(3.142)*(25.8”)]/[(1.737)*(0.848)*(2.91)] = 18.912 inches. 1,000 RPM = (18,912 inches/min) * (60 min/hr) * (1 foot/12 inches) * (1 mile/5,280 feet) = 17.91 mph

1,000 RPM = 17.9 mph
2,000 RPM = 35.8 mph
3,000 RPM = 53.7 mph
4,000 RPM = 71.6 mph
5,000 RPM = 89.6 mph
6,000 RPM = 107.4 mph
7,000 RPM = 125.4 mph
8,000 RPM = NA (Top speed is slightly > than 125 mph)

Fuel Economy

Steady State 56 mph – 54.7 mpg
Steady State 74 mph – 42.8 mpg

Break In

The first 600-miles: While running in the motorcycle, vary the throttle opening and engine-speed range frequently; avoid riding at constant engine rpm for prolonged periods.

Try to do most of your riding during this initial break-in period on twisting, fairly hilly roads.

For the first 125 miles, keep RPM’s less than 5,500. From 125 to 250 miles, do not exceed 6,500 RPM. From 250 to 375 miles do not exceed 7,500 RPM. And from 375 to 550 miles and only allow maximum engine RPM for short bursts.

And in the Lake on a road never traveled.
