Was really excited at first, but disappointed when...
...I realized the gas pump wasn't being nice yesterday morning. The gas gauge was showing half full, and Mom wanted me to put $15 of gas into the tank. Typically it takes a little over $30 to fill from 3/4 full, so $15 sounded at the time like I could fully fill up. So $11.81 later, the hose clicked off. I didn't want to "overfill" so I took it out, paid for the gas, and got in the car. After manually checking gas mileage and reporting 31 MPG for the tank, I was thrilled. But the gas gauge never went over 3/4 full after starting the car, so my excitement didn't last too long.
Dangit! And I was so looking forward to reporting gas mileage on the site for the first time. 
On a related note, I've been typically getting 14 MPG on my short trips and the highest I've gotten was 20 after driving a little extra one time to warm the car up. Today I decided to compare my new driving style compared to my "old" driving style when leaving school for the day. My "new" driving style (after recieving Scangauge II) gets me about 14 MPG. My "old" style gets me 8. So this Scangauge II sure helps with gas mileage.

Is that a 75% increase? I think that's pretty significant and Way to Go!
Now if only 1/2 of the US could do half of what you have done - oil would be in the $40 - 50 a barrel range.

You drive a 1999 4 cyl. Camery and only get 14 mpg? Somethings wrong with those numbers!!! I get 8 mpg in my 34 foot motorhome

He explained it in a different thread: really short (~1mi each way?) driving cycle...in Vermont...in January. It just shows you how big a role the driving enviromnent plays in fuel economy.

Well, 1.5 miles to school, 1.5 miles back twice a day, then 1.6 miles to my mother's workplace, 1.6 miles back twice a day. About 12 miles or so daily, not counting other trips like going to the store (2 miles away), etc.
If I drive to Burlington, Vermont two or three times a tank (which is about 35, 40 miles away) or to my Uncle's house (about 14-15 miles away) then the tank average usually goes up to like 23. But since I've lately been driving just around town, the tank mileage seems to hover around 14. And if I drive like I'm in a hurry, one trip from school to home gets me about 10.
