Unhappy Re: Prius owners watch out for this guy!!

I'm not able to view the video because I use a WebTV, however just reading the description makes me want to cry. Target practice?!

It makes me so mad how people like that can afford such nice things and then treat their stuff like it's disposable. I mean, people who are willing to own one could have bought it. But then this happens.

Toyota should "audition" potential Prius owners so that way those who want a Prius (and are going to use it the way it was intended) can get one. Not just some random person who is willing to pay for it. Unlikely, but that's what should happen.

Re: Prius owners watch out for this guy!!

I'll attempt to give you a verbal picture of the rip job.

The video starts out somewhere in Southern California with a Prius I being driven by a Brit (Gearhead Jeremy Clarkson) with all the "charm" of American Idol's Simon Fuller and nearly as much objectivity of Art Spinella. He disses the Prius I styling (guess they could not afford to get a Prius II). He continues his rip while driving - "They say..."
  • ...it goes from 0 to 60 in 10.6 seconds
  • ...it can do 106mph
  • ...it gets 66mpg (....uh that's for the Prius II, but he's driving a Prius I)
Goes on to say the "Gawd Awful" Prius has no redeeming qualities whatsoever, and more unsubstantiated opinions. ("I'd rather look at a baboon - the back of a baboon") Recommeded a diesel Golf. (Good luck getting one in California)

For the climax, he drives the Prius to the desert to Billy Bob's parking lot. The redneck takes out his pistol until he is out of rounds, then unloads his machine gun. Finally, he uses an anti-aircraft gun until the Prius has at least as many bullet holes as Bonnie & Clyde's car.

I think the typical fair-minded British would call this review very daft.

Re: Prius owners watch out for this guy!!

Hi All:

___What the video failed to show since they cut the tape early was the Prius I drove away after the fire went out and Billy Bob needed a ride back to civilization in it because his 78 Ford F150 didn’t start

___Good Luck

___Wayne

Oh, it was Jeremy Clarkson - why would he lower himself to doing auto smut?

Hi Chuck:

___He is a huge Euro diesel fan since that is where he is from but why he jumped all over the Prius I is anyone’s guess?

___Good Luck

Talking Re: Prius owners watch out for this guy!!

On the "bulletproof test"....

How would the 1978 F150 do?

Heck - let's test a 2007 F150!
