Will the new Lexus hybrid prove popular among American buyers? --Ed.
Lexus is launching a new marketing campaign across the US, spanning its entire hybrid line-up: the RX 450h, GS 450h, LS 600h and HS 250h. The recently-announced Lexus CT 200h, not yet on the market, will not be included.
The luxury division launched its first hybrid in 2004. There are now more than 190,000 Lexus hybrids on the road.
We are very proud of our leadership in luxury hybrids and have created a campaign that lets consumers know that at Lexus, hybrids arent just a concept for a future car, but vehicles that have been on the road for five years, states Dave Nordstrom, vice president of marketing for Lexus. We will continue to explore groundbreaking technologies that will allow us to expand our hybrid offerings and remain at the forefront of alternative-fuel vehicle development.

Wow, almost 200,000 people have bought Lexus hybrids? Does the RX450h make up most of that volume? Those are common enough that I have a couple coworkers with them, and I can't honestly say I've actually seen any other model of Lexus hybrid in person. Though I expect to start seeing HS250hs soon, and I'm very excited about the CT200h.

___The RXh is indeed Lexus' big hybrid seller. And rightfully so with a 30 mpgUS rating by comparison to everything else available in Lexus' lineup... Other than the new HS that is.
___Last month is just an example as the rest of Lexus' hybrid lineup combined including the brand new 2010 HS do not add up to RXh sales overall. The HS is simply not gaining any traction unfortunately

Well, at least the HS is within spitting distance of the RX, and outselling the ridiculous LS by nearly 50 to one. I'm betting that the CT will get near-Prius mileage and will poach a lot of the loaded Prius sales from the Toyota brand.
