Is it a tornado chaser?

I had a new one. Someone asked me if my car was used for pursuing tornadoes. He thought all of the side/wheel skirts and sheet metal extensions on my vehicle was armor plating like that seen on some the tornado chasing trucks used in the plains states. So, depending on the spectator, my car could be either a hybrid, EV, amphibian, and now, tornado pursuit car.

Haha! that's great! It just shows you what's hot on the TV these days.

I'm surprised nobody asked if it was a crab/lobster fishing vehicle, or a few years ago, a real estate flipping vehicle.

Re: Is it a tornado chaser?

You would win the FE challenge among tornado chasing vehicles. In part because you could do airborne FAS much further than the others when actually in a tornado.

Re: Is it a tornado chaser?

That's great. You should tell them that they should have seen it before you drove it through the center of that last tornado. A few dents from flying cows but they and the aerocivic were otherwise unhurt. - Dale

Re: Is it a tornado chaser?

Hmm.....

Thinking about it, it would be good for that. The biggest problem they have is with wind, and that doesn't affect you as much.

How is the tornado going to move you around when the air can't get a good hold of you?

The other stuff flying around you could cause a lot of problems though.

Re: Is it a tornado chaser?

It's interesting that a friend of mine who is definately NOT a hypermiler has even heard of the aerocivic.

He is a big fan of Honda for racing.

He has done a little modifying of one of his 3 CRXs for FE though.

One for FE (though he doesn't drive for it), one for racing, and the other is being built for his wife to race.
