The Auto Show season includes bikes too.

Mavizen TTX02 – 130 mph worth of all-electric racing goodness.
With the “Silly Season” upon us (Worldwide Auto Show season in full swing), Frankfurt, Tokyo and SEMA have surprised us. We have seen new HEVs, PHEVs, BEVs, SuperDiesels and future gasoline powered vehicles that not only look great but include environmental footprints that would have been unobtainable just 5-short years ago.
Frankfurt
With the multitude of automobiles taking the limelight, bikes made their presence known. In Frankfurt, local favorite BMW launched their new S1000RR Superbike and K1300S Supersport. Both with great fanfare from the motorcycling press albeit not really worthy of our coverage given the “to much sport and to little FE” bent.
Tokyo
In Tokyo, Yamaha stole the show with its
HV-X Hybrid Bike including a 15 to 20 HP 250CC engine and a 20 HP Motor capable of running in a full-EV mode. Although still just a concept, this one is on the track and it should only be a matter of time before we see it on the street?
SEMA
Welcome back to the good ole US of A. Namely, Las Vegas and home to SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association), the show where mild goes wild and wild is beyond description.
Amongst all the fashion modded automobiles making news, yet another bike appeared that is not only revolutionary but may in fact start an entire racing series it can call its own. We welcomed the all-electric Supersport as the
Mavizen TTX02 was released.
Being a bike fan thanks to their low fuel consumption and high fun factor, all-electric motorcycle racing is a sport we can all support for all the right reasons
US Auto Shows
In the US, we have the 2009 LA, 2010 Detroit (NAIAS 2010), 2010 Chicago and 2010 NY Autoshow Press Events to attend as they occur over the next 5-months. The Auto show extravaganza’s emphasis however will be on the current and next generation automobiles and concepts with little in the way of bikes on the show floors.
Instead, Bike manufacturers display and launched and their current and upcoming wares at shows completely separate from the Autos with their own dates and venues.

“Nearly 1,000 companies including the leading motorcycle manufacturers, accessory companies and retail stores will showcase the hottest new vehicles, parts and accessories for your two-, three-, or four-wheeled vehicle,” said Show Director Jeff D’Entremont. “Whether you are a long-time motorcycle rider, city commuter, track veteran or a potential new rider, each show stop is filled with the latest bikes, gear, fashion, safety equipment and more to get your motor running.”
Although we will not be able to offer coverage from the West Coast to the East as we do with the Autos, we will do our best to have boots on the ground in Chicago just as we did earlier this year on a very cold day in early February described in the
2009 Chicago International Motorcycle Show.
Stay tuned and who knows what might appear?
