Acura TSX Sport Wagon arrives in the fall of 2010
Honda/Acura sure could use its hyper-efficient 2.2L iDTEC turbo-diesel about now?
Wayne Gerdes - CleanMPG - Oct. 28, 2009
2010 Acura TSX Sedan - $29,310 to start and a maximum 25 mpgUS combined with the wagon on the way.
Acura announced today the addition of a TSX sport wagon to its 2011 vehicle lineup. Arriving at Acura dealerships in the Fall of 2010, the TSX sport wagon will be based on the popular TSX sports sedan, which features balanced performance, advanced technology and bold styling.
Little additional information was given but a quick overview of the TSX sedan is in order.
An all-new, clean sheet design was implemented just this year with improvements in nearly every category compared to its predecessor. The second generation TSX with the hopped up 2.4L I4 (25 mpgUS combined) or V6 (21 mpgUS combined) Accord engines appeal to buyers considering a new vehicle within the Entry Premium segment.
Entry Premium Segment
With a price point typically in the high $20,000 to low $30,000 range, the "entry premium" sedan segment represents the gateway to over a dozen automakers. Customers will find the Acura TSX positioned alongside the Audi A4, BMW 3-series, Infiniti G, Lexus IS and Mercedes-Benz C-class. With the entry to a luxury brand comes high expectations and the TSX - together with the award-winning Acura dealership experience - is ready to meet all of them. For 2010, the new TSX V-6 further raises the performance bar for those looking for even better acceleration and handling. While the TSX with 2.4L I-4 competes with vehicles such as the A4 2.0T, 328i, IS 250 and C300, the TSX V-6 targets even more performance minded entry luxury sedans. The TSX V-6 is a strong consideration for customers who will shop the Audi A4 3.2, BMW 335i, and Lexus IS 350.
Although the Acura TSX is better equipped than the 2010 VW Jetta TDI Sportwagen, it may not have the same advantage over the upcoming $29,900 Audi A3. Without a fuel efficient offering, Acura could be in deep trouble with the Wagon given the sedans poor 21/25 ratings vs. the 34 and 35 mpg ratings of the current VW and future Audi competitors?
2011 TSX Sport Wagon details will be released at a later date.

Re: Acura TSX Sport Wagon arrives in the fall of 2010
Hi Andrew:
___Without the diesel, it will be a FSP and a huge disappointment yet again
___I will press the PR guys on the iDTEC again but every time its precious metals cost to much, Acura customers do not want a diesel, American's are not ready for a diesel...
___From the monthly sales figures, it appears American's do not particularly like Acura's either given the poor FE and Premium recommended/required hopped up engines they are saddled with
___Good Luck
___Wayne

Americans don't like Acura because it's entire lineup is lacking. Polarizing styling combined with old engines and lacking technology.

You mean the new front end treatment? "Da toof?" I don't know if you can technically call something polarizing when it sends just about everyone running in the same direction.

Re: Acura TSX Sport Wagon arrives in the fall of 2010
I've had the chance to drive and ride in a few 1st gen TSXes. My oh my what a nice fun car that is. I came close to buying one, but the fuel economy + premo fuel requirement drove me away. I got to sit in the 2nd gen at a local dealer. I just didn't like the interior much, seemed a way too busy/confusing layout. the exterior wasn't that impressive to me either.
I'd like to see honda/acura drop the crap about not wanting to bring over diesels here because we "aren't ready". I've been waiting for a while for honda to finally bring diesel over. sadly it doesn't look like it'll happen anytime soon

If anything, I'd imagine that WV would lose all of it's potential diesel buyers overnight. I think most people view hondas as sporty type cars, and a diesel doesn't fit into that image.

___To bad most miss that the Audi R15 TDI ALMS Prototype destroys the Acura ARX-02a ALMS entrant every time they meet
___Of course the Audi R15 TDI is an LMP1 class vehicle vs. the LMP2 class Acura...
Audi R15 in action on its way to the checkered at the 12-hours of Sebring this past Spring

___Good Luck
