Calling All Honda Technicians
I'm hoping our cleanmpg resources can help me track down this answer. Is there a compatible EBH for my '99 Civic? The stock 08T44-S01-100 is discontinued and unavailable.
I can't confirm but I don't believe there is a difference in the plug diameter or thread size between the stock/unavailable 08T44-S01-100, 08T44-S5B-100 ('01-'05 Civic) or 08T44-SV4-100 ('00-'03 Insight & '00-'02 Accord). Can anyone confirm? Desperately seeking a compatible EBH.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Calling All Honda Technicians
As far as I know the 1st gen Insight EBH is 400W. I just had one installed and it brings the coolant temp up to the same level as the 400W EBH in my Elantra.

Re: Calling All Honda Technicians
Sean - thanks for confirming that your EBH is 400W. I won't waste any more time and order the standard one.
Jud - It's good to be participating again. I appreciate your 'welcome back'.

Re: Calling All Honda Technicians
Ok, now I can't find the part. I've attempted to order it through 2 different websites that show it available only to find that it isn't. Does anyone know of a compatible and available EBH for my '99 Civic EX? Again the original Pt# is 08T44-S01-100.

Re: Calling All Honda Technicians
More checking leads me to believe that there isn't a difference in the plug diameter or thread size between the stock/unavailable 08T44-S01-100, 08T44-S5B-100 ('01-'05 Civic) or 08T44-SV4-100 ('00-'03 Insight & '00-'02 Accord). Can anyone confirm? Desperately seeking a compatible EBH (not Suzanne-sorry Madonna). We've had below freezing temps at night here in Chicago!

Anyone have suggestions or connections I could ask? Please point me in the right direction. I'm stumped.

Re: Calling All Honda Technicians
Stephen, I just entered the part number you had in the first post over at http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and got the following result:
LINK
Are you sure it is discontinued?

Re: Calling All Honda Technicians
Good find but just like the other 7 places I tried - "Honda has discontinued this part and it is unavailable". "No there isn't another model listed that would be compatible."
I must say this is most frustrating!!!
Thanks for looking Sean. I just can see going the winter without an EBH!
