So far I have filled my Prius 3 times. Dealer sold it with a "full" tank. I drove for a bit and then topped it off. So that was two "sloppy" fills that I am going to toss out as they add too much static to the real results.
I have had two more fills which allowed me to run to E before refueling. I know, never drive a tank to empty due to a whole host of issues. But I just want to know, how many miles can I get out of tank with my driving ability? Both times I drove well past the "0 miles to empty" which does nothing for the marriage!
First time I filled from empty I stuffed 11.462 gallons in which was 722 miles since last fill. My worksheet says 63 tank mpg, display says 57.2.
Second time I filled from empty I stuffed 12.864 gallons which was 730.6 miles since last fill. Worksheet says 56.8 and display for that tank was 59.9. (go figure) Not quite sure why things are jumping around but we are early in the relationship and that is another topic which I believe has been covered elsewhere.
The question is more about how many gallons have you stuffed into the Gen 3? As you can see I was hardly empty the first time. The second fill from emtpy took an additional 1.4 gallons. I understand the Gen 3 did away with the bladder tank so we should get consistant fills. This is my first Prius or fuel efficient car for that matter.
Happy to have someone educate me. I searched the forum but did not see anything about how many gallons they have put into their tank. If I missed it point me in the right direction.
Thanks!
