Snopes.com on The Gas Boycott Urban Myth
Ever since the 1970's, this urban myth gets recycled that if people don't buy gas on a particular day/week, it will bring down gas prices.
See http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/gasout.asp

I highly recommend making www.snopes.com a favorite or bookmark to dispel anything that sounds like a myth. Just don't understand why this gas boycott myth goes on and on....people can't be that stupid - is this wishful thinking?

Re: Snopes.com on The Gas Boycott Urban Myth
Just saw a variation of this that might be sensible - boycott Walmart gas.

Re: Snopes.com on The Gas Boycott Urban Myth
A boycott would work if people would just follow thru.
The bus boycotts work during the civil rights period.

The only way this could work is if millions of Americans could comfortably do without transportation that does not require gas.
