Pulled over twice this week for "drunk" driving...

I've heard the stories but until this week I have not been pulled over for driving too slow. The first cop said that I was driving slow and "weaving" across the white line. I told him I was on my way to work, had not been drinking, drive slow to save gas and that I did not cross any lines. He let me go ASAP and said something about just doing his job to keep drunks off the road. Overall the first cop was nice and I understood about him doing his job.

The second cop said the exact same thing and when I told him that I didn't weave he got all mad and told me I did so. He was just itching to start an argument. I offered to blow for alcohol and he kept insisting that I was "weaving". I explained that I was aware of his "technique" for finding drunk drivers and related the story of the first cop who used the exact same lie. I had crossed no lines in either case. The second cop then claimed I was weaving "within the lane" and that he never claimed I crossed a line. What a dirtbag!

Anyway neither cop issued even so much as a warning ticket. Clearly they both thought I was drunk.

I finally feel like an official hypermiler! You ain't a hypermiler till you get pulled over for going too slow!

This spring I was probably on the verge of getting pulled over for going slow.

lol
Guess I better be extra careful because I always carry a bottle of hand sanitizer that's 99% ethyl alcohol and if you clean your hands just before being pulled over, it smells just like vodka.

Can I assume the Civic shows MPG like the Prius? (Sorry, I'm mostly ignorant about the HCH.) If so, show it to him. It will help convince him of your sincerity, and it might be an opportunity to proselytize!

Re: Pulled over twice this week for "drunk" driving...

I got a written warning for "violating the right side white line" or some such verbage, while going thru Kansas for HF06 this July. 2 or 3 AM I was RR letting others around when needed. One just wouldn't go around...........then he hit me with the light. He thought I had been tipping the bottle also.

Re: Pulled over twice this week for "drunk" driving...

Ive had them look at me. Had a tex trooper look me over like I was a felon.

The okie fuzz have been pretty cool about my hypermiling efforts. There are min. and max speeds posted. Stay with in those and straight,,, you should have no problems.

The police should focus on cell phone use. Poor drunks get a bum rap.
