Jerk of the weekend
I was driving around town Saturday in a suburban area where there are a lot of kids out running and playing around. It's a nice day and on these days usually there's a basketball hoop set up and kids running around.
I made a right turn onto a local street that had another stop sign 100 yards up ahead. I slowly accelerated and noticed halfway down the street a kid was bouncing a ball and there was a basketball hoop set up. As I slowly approached the kid, (15-20mph) what seemed to be a young teen in mommy and daddy's brand new chevy malibu is about to pull out of his driveway to make a left turn(turn signal wasn't on). The kid was playing with his ball on the side of the street opposite to this teens driveway.
As I got closer, keeping my eye on the little boy, I got to about 20 ft away from the driveway when the idiot did the most dangerous and stupid thing anyone could have ever done at that point. He came out hard only to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the kid 2 feet in front of the car! (it was a small road) Now, besides the fact that this guy ruined my glide and almost killed the little boy (about 8 yrs old), had I been going the speed he seemed to like to travel, he would have better prayed that the side crash rating on his car was a 6 out of 5.
I came to a complete stop, didn't give him a dirty look but stared him straight in the eye and he knew he did something stupid, of course after the kid got out of the way, he sped off.
What puzzled me was that, I made a right at the next stop sign and another 100 yards down the road, I see this idiot at the next cross section, so he made a loop and took two left turns and drove twice as much to get to the same spot...I was still ahead of him though.
Watch out for the crazy ones out there, you'll encounter them on every commute occasion.
I also heard the horror story of a friend who got T boned on the driver side by a speeding suburban that ran a redlight @50+mph in a 30mph zone. My friend was driving a volvo

Re: Jerk of the weekend
He had to go through surgery, but he's ok. The light turned green for him, he goes and then a speeding suburban hit his driver side sending him and his car into the convenient store nearby. The volvo was totalled. The Suburban was actually going about 60mph from police reports.
