Re: Quiz: How Green is your workout?
The 200W question needs major revision. The power draw on my roommates' television is more than 200W (It's 32", not an uncommon size in a typical American house). The power draw on my computer is more than 100W when running intensive graphics apps. This was tested with a Kil-A-Watt. I'm at 60/100, which should have been 65/100 if it weren't for the dumb power question.

Re: Quiz: How Green is your workout?
So working out at home lost me points because of the possibility that equipment I don't own might produce co2, my Wii Fit does produce a little co2 I guess.
Kind of an odd mix of questions about what I do and whether I know what the average is.
I get a 5 out of 10 because even though I walk mostly within 2 miles but I didn't know others don't?
The assumption that taking the effort to deliver shoes somehow to a recycling center that will make something of it that is better than a landfill is a stretch. No lack of landfill space by me. Did Nike sponsor this quiz?
I lost 10 points because I don't consume energy bars?
I don't dry my clothes outdoors but got 10 points for guessing 6%.
Final score a meaningless 67.

I agree with the meaningless comment.
Almost none of it had anything to do with your workout, but with how much you knew about others workouts (and other information that really had nothing to do with the workout itself, like the power and dryer questions).
Scored a 75%.

Re: Quiz: How Green is your workout?
Speaking of meaningless questions, why do personal trips need to be <= 2 miles to make them "part of a personal workout regimen?"

Re: Quiz: How Green is your workout?
Wow, I got 95 out of 100. Kind of surprised, since some of the stats are pretty arcane. And the one where I got 5/10 was kinda arbitrary - what can you power with 200 watts? I answered just a TV screen because for most larger TVs that is the case. You can only power a PC and stereo in addition if the TV is moderately sized and the computer is a laptop.
Nice to see something developed by my employer mentioned as the correct answer to #7, too.
As far as how green my actual workout goes (as opposed to my knowledge or lucky guesses WRT energy usage statistics), it definitely has a negative carbon footprint because I do it as a substitute for driving. I no longer have a gym membership because I bike to work ~3 days/week on average. The main reason I bike is for fitness, not cost savings or environmental advantages, but those are benefits.
