Shoei – Hornet-DS dual sport helmet review...

Hi All:

___Although I was not able to secure the HJC CL-15 or Arai DS-3, I just finished up my final contact with Shoei’s Marketing Manager, Bret Milan who is offering me a loaner Shoei Hornet-DS while in the LA area. There offices are just down the road from where I will be staying in Anaheim.

___The Hornet-DS is dual sport specific hybrid helmet offering both a visor and removable shield for the off-road rider and a full face shield, full face helmet for the those of us that spend most of our time on the road. In other words, this helmet has both the street and off-road rider’s interest in mind.

___A DOT and SNELL 2005 certification is as good as it is going to get and should make for an interesting review with the Dual-sport look and feel to match the Dual Sport Honda XR650L review starting next Tuesday.

___Bret menitoned I can still try a TZR Full-face street helmet with its superior visor opening latch but unless anyone has any objections, the DS is what they will have ready for me when I arrive.

___Good Luck

___Wayne
