suggestion : auto retirement function
The garage, at least the diesel part, is full of cars which have very few logs or no log since months. Fighting against such phantoms is hard, so phantoms with only one or very few logs and their owner not active anymore is unfair imho.
Could it be possible : - to have an "auto-retirement" function, run once a week per example, and
- to be able to see only non-retired cars in the garage
I also second the rank printing, so it is easier to see how you improve comparatively to others.
Thanks in advance,
Denis.

Re: suggestion : auto retirement function
probably a good suggestion, though i think weekly is probably too short a time frame for this bunch. i only fill up every couple of weeks, and right lane cruiser....well, he filled up for 1.84 the other day, and told me his previous fill gas was 3.82......

Re: suggestion : auto retirement function
I agree, weekly is way too short of a time span. My son(CobraPond) quite often goes as long as 3 months on a tank.

Re: suggestion : auto retirement function
I was thinking about running that function once a week, but only car without tank during last 3-6 months should be auto-retired.

Re: suggestion : auto retirement function
Hm. What is it you want to accomplish with this feature?
By the way, the log you selected is the review vehicle Wayne (xcel) drove...

Re: suggestion : auto retirement function
I would like to have the possibility to see only active cars. A function could be run once a week to mark as "auto-retired" the cars that have not updated their fuel log since 3-6 months. As soon as the fuel log is updated, the "auto-retired" tag would be removed.
Wayne's test is great, but as it has been done in September, I can't see how this car withstands summer or winter. I prefer seeing fuel log of Wayne's Accord to see by myself his logs may be varying by more than 25% (so Sean, your regularity in your last tank is more than an exploit).
There are other cars that are not updated any more, per example the car Slowest-Driver owned by ( apass) who isn't active on the forum since May. The same for The Skunk ( jackcrevalle), BiodieselMPG's Vehicle ( BiodieselMPG), Black Bullet's Vehicle ( Black Bullet), billc's Vehicle ( billc) and NJ2005VWTDI's Vehicle ( NJ2005VWTDI)...
So in diesel's top ten, only 4 cars are active and 5 users are active. I think it's far easier to compete against active cars as the not active one are never failing against winter lower temperatures per example, or because they have to do a killing mpg travel, or because they have to share their car with someone else, or...
Denis.

Re: suggestion : auto retirement function
Jay (TheForce if I don't mix) is an active user and there isn't more than 3-6 month between his fuel logs. I bet that even with his new Hymotion batteries he will fill up more than 4 times per year, but I will be happy to be wrong. In this case he could log a "current tank" from time to time... a little price to pay for such an efficient car
Denis.

Re: suggestion : auto retirement function
So you just want the main listing to be not as cluttered? I've seen other requests for this but usually the time frame is a bit longer and geared toward complete removal. I like the "not updated so not shown" idea better. I'll look into implementing that though I think I'll stick closer to the 6mo mark (as my Elantra did have a tank that stretched over 6mo because I mostly only drove it once or twice a week after acquiring the Insight).
Does anyone else have any input on this?
