Just one hint: You won't find one of these on the current Prius.

This looks like a camera lens. Since the current prius has a backup camera I'm guessing this is a forward looking thermal infra red camera.

Its a lens, but it doens't have to be a camera. Could be an LED lamp of some sort, but it doesn't match up with the headlamps seen in the full car images.
Optionally, Hal might open the pod bay doors.
