Do You Think the Prius III Looks more "Ordinary"?
Do You Think the Prius III Looks more "Ordinary"? (compared to the Prius II)
My gut feeling is Toyota wanted to have a move conventional look to appeal to more people, although the distinctive look of the Prius is a big selling point.

Re: Do You Think the Prius III Looks more "Ordinary"?
Wishing they did the front end different - take out the "nose"...maybe it works for a BMW. Doing the nose for the Toyota hood ornament seems like overkill if it's obvious it's a Prius.
The longer front makes it look more conventional, although it does increase the crumple zone.
Bottom line is it would not make much difference to me if it's a PHEV-20+

Regarding the nose, i guess toyota wanted the prius to match the rest of its range in terms of looks. Although it still has that aero look about it. To be honest, i couldn't care less how it looks, once it gives stellar FE!

Re: Do You Think the Prius III Looks more "Ordinary"?
I think it looks very boring and plain for a trend setter. All that said, it doesn't matter if it delivers great FE, but for the kind of money we pay for these things in Canada, it needs to be a little flashy.
I agree that they are probably trying to make it look more ordinary to appeal to a more diverse demographic. Many people don't want to "stick" out in the crowd like the current Prius used to.

Does it look more plain because it looks live everybody else, or because everybody else started looking like it?
Wonder what the air resitance is on the new one vs the old.

Motor Trend hates it.
Not that I'd take them too seriously...

Not really. Still too spacey to fit in.
