Subject: The American Car Party

Date: Tue, 01 Aug 2006 06:48:34 EDT

Limited Press Release Not for Publication until August 2, 2006 2:00pm:

The American Car Party

In 1773, America was under an economic squeeze as an oversea Tea company threatened to undersell the American merchants and monopolize the colonial tea trade. Our country, our politicians, and our citizens united to provide an electrifying response that our country still remembers The Boston Tea Party.

It is 2006, and America is once again under an economic squeeze from overseas. This time, it is not about a $0.05 bag of Tea, it is about a multi billion dollar industry the automobile. Foreign companies are looking to step into the American economy, undersell the American merchants, close the plants of our manufacturing industry, and destroy the pride and prosperity America has fought long and hard to build. It is time we had a new party The American Car Party.

You are being invited to attend the event on August 2nd. The Diamond Belle will provide shade and lunch on the water as you watch seven foreign cars being dumped into the Detroit River in front of the headquarters of America's largest car producer GM. Each will be pushed in by an American made counterpart by Ford or GM. Mercedes, BMW, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, and VW all brands that have put an economic and social squeeze on our country, will float away. Imagine if with them, Ford and GM had the market share these brands have taken away. What would Detroit look like? Michigan? America? How many soldiers in Iraq would instead be in America, working in a strong economy? How many people would still have pensions, healthcare, homes, and families? We don't need foreign companies out of France, Japan, or Germany coming to the rescue of America and our companies. We need American citizens to once again display the pride and enthusiasm for America we saw over 200 years ago. America needs to support the products built in America and the people that build America.

GM and Ford don't need another restructuring plan America does.

Arnold Goetzke has written a book describing this critical need titled Eating The Hand That Feeds U.S. Manufacturing Our Demise. The book chronicles the de-Americanization of Chrysler and what happens when the global economy takes over America loses. Chrysler is no longer part of the social and economic solution for America, it is part of the problem.

The book also provides the next steps that America and its citizens need to take in order to stop manufacturing our demise and to stop letting the global economy create a crisis economy here in America.

If you are interested in covering The American Car Party, we would ask that you let us know the name of the person attending ahead of time. The Belle leaves at 11:00am and returns at 1:00pm. We look forward to your participation. It is time we had some positive, enthusiastic energy behind our manufacturing partners. Please do your part, even if you are not interested, and keep this confidential until August 2, 2:00pm.

So dumping some perfectly good foreign cars in a river proves... what?

Re: You will be dumber for having looked at this link

How about if models that were actualy made in america did the pushing. Then you would see a civic pushing a few GM models into the river.

Maybe some day someone will have to post an article showing which models are MADE in america vs which models just support a few elite american executives. I'd rather have american jobs than a 1/2 dozen wealthy americans get more money.

*sigh* Always pointing the finger at someone else for their problems. That's not how things get fixed. When will they realize this?

It's getting to the point that I seriously think that if tomorrow the GM workers were working for Toyota, more American jobs would be saved. On GM's present course, they are going to push their sub-20mpg vehicles as if that's all they have and outsouce their operations outside of the US. In the meantime, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan hire a sizable number of American workers....

Coast Guard isn't happy about this:

48KB PDF file

http://www.eatingthehand.com/Cancelation%20Note.pdf

In short, they could receive fines up to $32,500 per vehicle with another $500,000 in other fines and 6 years in prison for dumping the cars in the river.

I say nail'em to the wall.

Re: You will be dumber for having looked at this link

Personally I don't agree with 80% of what that book has to offer, and if one looks at factual figures many claims are false. For example our GDP has grown exponentially, and our economy is humming at quite a good clip.
The book would lead one to believe we're on the brink of economic collapse but when one does research such as this:
http://siteresources.worldbank.org/D...ources/GDP.pdf
It shows a different picture.

It's my opinion that 75% of our monetary trouble is caused by an overbloated, overly complicated and burdensome, oppressive tax system.
99.9% of anybody you ask can't even tell you how much money they are paid. Many only know their "take home" pay. 99.999% They don't even realize their employers "Contribution" is taken out of their own employment budget- the end result is you, the employee pays it all. They think the government must have and is entitled to a large chunk of your family's money.
This is the biggest SCAM in U.S. history and they continue to get away with it.
The government's withholding plan of the 1940's has been more effective at brainwashing us than they could have ever dreamed.
One of the problems it resulted in is with the U.S. Auto industry, textile and countless others as these businesses flee the country for our terrible tax system.

There's another system out there which is fast gaining momentum which is not a perfect solution but far better than what we have:
http://www.fairtax.org

This would bring domestic industry BACK into this country, and draw in countless foreign ones as well. Imagine a tax system that:
  • allows you to keep 100% of your paycheck, pension, and Social Security payments.
  • frees up the time wasted on filling out cumbersome I.R.S. forms.
  • makes taxation of income unconstitutional by repealing the 16th Amendment.
  • exempts all taxpayers from federal taxation, up to the poverty level, through a monthly rebate.
  • ensures that all Americans pay their fair share of taxes.
  • dramatically lowers tax rates for low-income and middle-income Americans.
  • Dramatically reduces the cost of goods and services by 20% to 30%.
  • allows families to save more for home ownership, education, and retirement.
  • protects and ensures the funding of Social Security and Medicare.
  • leaves unchanged the amount of money raised by the federal government.
  • Makes American products more competitive overseas.

The only thing stopping this bill is the people of Washington, as passage of this bill would cause them to loose quite a substantial part of their political power- it would be immediately transfered back to the people.

There's a lot of lies spread about this bill, mainly perpetrated by the lobbying community as they would loose their jobs (Imagine Washington without lobbyists).
Please read about it yourself. I bought the book at a fair tax rally for $15 and read it cover to cover in 2.5 hours. It's brilliant and would solve vast majority of issues.
