37.6 mpg in a Cavalier
My personal best so far in my 01 Cavalier base model with a 5 speed. Hoping to break 40 mpg before it starts getting cold.

Re: 37.6 mpg in a Cavalier
That's pretty cool man. Congrats!
I just posted my first tank and got 41.7mpg in my 2007 Chevy Aveo5. I was pretty stoked about that.

Re: 37.6 mpg in a Cavalier
Congratulations on the 37.6 mpg in a Cavalier!
I managed to get 35 mpg in a 2001 Cavalier (automatic) before I sold mine and got a Honda Civic. (43 + average mpg)
I'm surprised about this kind of mileage from a Cavalier, because it took me forever to break 33 mpg. Anyway, congratulations.

Titan, do you have a Sg? You'll be amazed at how the information it gives you will help you adjust your driving.
I'd say you can get 40mpg out of your car easy. That's not to downplay your achievement though -GREAT JOB!!

Re: 37.6 mpg in a Cavalier
I had one in my Titan and sent it back as it was giving causing codes. According to SC they had some issues with a batch and how they worked in Nissans.
I have been thinking about trying out one again for the Cavalier.

Re: 37.6 mpg in a Cavalier
Nice, I got 37.1 in my car, so 40 should be easy in a cavalier.

Re: 37.6 mpg in a Cavalier
On a 300 mile trip during a snowstorm, I pulled 41.6 with my 2004 cavalier with an automatic. Granted because of road conditions I was only doing an average of 52mph on the hwy, and 40mph overall average with slowing down through quite a few small towns. The car had a trunk stuffed full of christmas presents, more stuff in the backseat, and the passenger seat occupied. wonder what I would have got with all that extra weight removed.

Re: 37.6 mpg in a Cavalier
very well done. winter plays havoc with FE, so you did a good job. the low speed helps, and i always think driving on slick surfaces is like having low rolling resistance tires

Re: 37.6 mpg in a Cavalier
Your 2004 Cavalier probably has the same 2.2 L Ecotec engine that my 2005 Cobalt has. You can average over 40 mpg with that engine throughout the year.
