Hello to all Hypermilers
Hello, I would just like to introduce my self. I have been quite interested in Hypermileing for a while and why it makes so much sense. I live in the Niagara area of Southern Ontario and currently commute about 9km to work each way, with working shifts and the public transport system being as limited as it is I use a Kawasaki W650 motorcycle for work. Winter time means using my wife's winterbeater 1990 Buick Lesaber for transportation when the snow flies. My wife drives a 03 Cooper S which gets about 5.9 Liters per 100 km on long trips.
I have a new car on order which will be a 09 Vibe with a 2.4 and stick. We both drive stick as we are from the UK many years ago. I will keep folks posted how I make out with the Vibe once I get it, I am currently using my Scangauge in the Mini.

Re: Hello to all Hypermilers
Welcome. Those sound like good cars for hypermiling, we will be interested in your progress. What is the around town FE for the Cooper?

Re: Hello to all Hypermilers
Hi, not sure what city mpg is as my wife drives it most of the time, but it does not take much gas over the week. I will be more interested it what my Vibe will get once it is broken in. The only thing is I will only use the Vibe for work in the Winter, so my main problem will be warming it up as fast as possible, and dealer could not see why I wanted a block heater!!

Re: Hello to all Hypermilers
Welcome to the club. Make sure you reand "Beating the EPA" in the articles section and consider purchasing a Scan Gauge.
