did my best, a local TV story on hm
I know I'm new here, but this is kind of a hot topic. So yesterday the local news station came out and did a little story on hypermiling with me since gas hit a new high. They actually led off with it at the 10:00 news. Check out the story at
http://www.kare11.com/news/news_arti...storyid=508227
Sorry, I did my best but they made us seem a little unsafe at the end of the story. Kind of a hatchet job imho. It's of out of your control, they shoot it and can edit it however they like. For the record there was no trail of cars behind us at all during the shoot and I went on and on about how important it is to be considerate of other drivers. I gave them a list of hints for hypermileage driving and that was number one, be considerate and don't impede traffic! They didn't mention it or post the hints on their site. Oh well. Hopefully it will affect how people drive.

I thought is was well done, except for the UNSAFE comment at the end. More drivers need to THINK about their wasteful driving.

That happens sometimes and, as you mentioned, there isn't a lot you can do about it. To their credit though, they did have a link here to the CleanMPG.com homepage.
Welcome to the site and keep up the good work!

Nice job,
When I just did my interview, I was worried about the same thing. Luckily for me, they didn't do that.

You are your own worse critic. You did a supurb job of bringing Hypermiling to more people. Good statements, good demeanor, good job. Most of us would have wimped out, but you stepped up to the plate and got a hit. Ask them to come back in a few months to see how you are doing (and then hit the safety issue HARD).
