Yes, 100 watts (not watts per hour) is about right for the average sedentary person. Several times more if exercising, though.
Correct about Peltier coolers. Their advantage is simplicity, not efficiency.

Sunroof in "pop up" position with right rear window down about 3"+ tinted windows + a tall cup of ice water lets me ride A/C free in reasonable comfort ..even on 100+ deg days. Wind/traffic noise in this configuration = not an issue. Amount of cross flow of air is controlled by size of RR window opening.

Sunroof slid back (as opposed to popped up) = less air flow, hot sun coming in, more wind noise.

Drivers window down 1" + right rear window down 3" = less air flow and more noise.



IOW, I really like the pop up feature on my sunroof.
