I think this is were the regenerative braking disengages so you sense less "drag".

I've just been catching up on these various messages about the "mysteries" of how the HCH behaves. I learned early on that the regenerative braking can be modulated by varying light pressure on the brake pedal. It's the way you tell the brake control you want to slow down but don't need the actual hydraulic brakes to be activated. I use this regularly to minimize using the actual brakes. The other technique is to use the "S" position when going down hills. This charges up the battery quickly when you know you will need to brake anyway for a drop in speed limit or traffic light ahead.

There have been fewer messages lately about the joys of getting the most out of the HCH-II's capabilities. After 4 years I'm still enjoying the far more engaging driving experience I have with mine. Glad to see others here are having the same experience.
