Yeah, and I was forgetting about the tax credit. With the TC, an SE level C-Energi would be under $27k. That would be really hard to resist!
Of course the TC also brings the offered Energi down under $30k. But still has the leather and Sync that I despise. Having recently rented a Ford with both leather and Sync, I don't think I could live with either on a daily basis.

X Plan pricing
24105 for SE
26937 SEL
31419 Energi
SE and SEL both get 1000 in incentives, prices above are before incentives.

Re: C-MAX Hybrid Achieves 47 MpgUS City/Highway/Combined Rating
Hi All:
I am not sure why Ford released another PR restating the same information we already know but they did. Here is the latest single additional piece of information without repeating the rest.
Ford C-MAX Hybrid provides up to 570 Miles on a single tank vs. Toyota's Prius v at 450 miles which in and of itself has more to do with the gas tank size thing than the 5 more mpgUS rating.

Wayne,
Do you know when the plug-ins will hit the showrooms? Can't wait . . .

Re: C-MAX Hybrid Achieves 47 MpgUS City/Highway/Combined Rating
The C-Max hybrid has a smaller gas tank compared to the C-Max Energi, if anything I'd think it would be the other way around, is this so the numbers will look better ?

Re: C-MAX Hybrid Achieves 47 MpgUS City/Highway/Combined Rating
Hi All:
Since I could not get the Tech Presentation PowerPoint as it involved a walk around of sorts from what I was told, I did make inquiries about MG1's higher RPM limits (spinning backwards at 14K plus RPM) for higher speed EV mode with 0 engine RPM and also the no torque demand (glide) with current showing in the mimic.
Here is the reply...

Hi Wayne,
Please find responses from our engineering team below for your questions:
1) The generator does rotate when the engine is off. In order to sustain high rotation, we provide with additional lube (by electric oil pump) that provides both cooling for motors and lubrication for mechanical parts.
The motor technology is the same, as the heat transfer with our technology is already very good.
2) Due to the fact that there are permanent magnets in the motors, in order to spin the motors and apply zero torque, some current is required (to overcome the motor backEMF). In some specific cases, you will see some current.
Please note that the C-MAX Energi has an aux. oil pump for the transmission that C-MAX Hybrid does not.
