Family outing 2012 Elantra mt
Although it has me twitching that I made a day's commute and didn't break 40 mpg when all is considered I guess it leaves me wondering how people can't be happy with the new Elantra's mpg. My family of five adults made a 240 mile round trip on Saturday in 85F temps and I averaged 39.1 mpg on the UG. The return trip from my sister's place was brutal stop and go and creeping along in Phils-Red Sox traffic which with construction work I couldn't get around. My wife is a somewhat aggressive driver and when irritated is impatient with my driving style so I tried to keep the peace in the car and used few techniques, stayed with the flow on the turnpike with cc etc. Three adults in the rear is not comfortable for the center passenger, sitting on the center hump is not really a seating option but was a necessity, that is my one criticism of the car on the day.
