Plenty of non-TDI's and even some $23K versions (not the S) but the TDI's were limited.

My 2007 Passat Wagon (2.0 gas engine ) has 98,000 miles and 62 months of ownership.

Original tires (50 psi) - I'll replace soon
orignial brakes


My lifetime average MPG is just over 31 MPG - due to quite a bit if urban driving ( NYC ). I have achieved a number of tanks with average MPG between 38-41 MPG.

2 unscheduled Repairs

1) windshield that had a Rock fly into it.
2) Electric parking brake replaced under warranty


My experience with VWs reliability is very very good.

I was informed this morning that we are first on the list for a 2013 VW Passat TDI equipped with the much desired 6-speed manual transmission preliminarily scheduled for a late September arrival. My fingers are crossed as this is one we’ll hopefully be able to go for a good long drive with

Confirmation arrived at 05:15 AM this morning so indeed there really is a heaven

9/21-10/1 there will be a new Passat TDI with the 6-speed stick in the drive. I cannot wait until we find out what it is capable of and what VW may have possibly added for 2013 if it is a 2013?
