Re: My aero grille block and wheel covers

The fasteners are plastic toggle bolts that were on clearance at Lowe's, and IIRC the Lexan is pretty thin. 1/16th" or 3/32nd" thick stuff. It's pretty thin. I'm impressed with the durability of the stuff. It's taken a few decent rock hits and numerous rain/sleet/snowstorms.

It's not true Lexan, it's the cheaper clear plastic they had in the hobby shop. 1 sheet of real Lexan was going for how much I put the entire block together for.

Re: My aero grille block and wheel covers

Thanks for the information.

My upper grill makes a slight indentation I guess you could say and I can't be sure but it's probably barely a tenth of an inch. I've been using pipe insulation and duct tape to hold my grill block in place but with the rains and such, I've been losing pieces while driving or flying inside the engine bay (nothing a long stick can't fish out). I like your implementation as it's much nicer and more secure.

Do you need to rev-match before shifting from N -> D?
