Re: Torque Lite - Android app
I got Torque Pro last week, but haven't driven any of my commonly traveled routes to compare its accuracy with my SG or UG.

Re: Torque Lite - Android app
I have that elm 327 linked from amazon - I got it when I bought one of these fuel saving goops. Haven't tried the goop yet but hooked up the adapter. The information seems accurate - except for the mpg. I drove a 12 mile trip in a nissan altima hybrid (that when i fill up averages really close to 31mpg for the tank) - this device said I got 50 mpg... right.... the instant reads on it ranged from 20 to 250 so i'm really not too sure.
The logging function of torque lite allowed me to log where i was (every second) and how fast I was going, altitude etc. But it didn't keep an mpg log... which was what I was looking for.
anyone found better programs?

Re: Torque Lite - Android app
Did you set vehicle profile with weight and engine?

Re: Torque Lite - Android app
I drove my P&G test route ~20 miles yesterday. My calibrated UG showed 67 mpg. Torque Pro showed 77 mpg. Torque Pro started 10 mpg optimistic, and stayed that optimistic all the way through the drive.
TP allows me to set up different vehicle profiles w/engine displacement and weight. I'll compare its performance on an engine-on run on Tuesday, and try its calibration adjustments after that.

Re: Torque Lite - Android app
Interesting. I drove my wife's AT 2012 Hyundai Elantra a week ago Tuesday, on a route where I normally get ~39 mpg. The Torque app was about 10 mpg low on this car, registering ~29 mpg instead of 39 mpg. Compare that to the 10 mpg error the other way on my MT Scion xB (Torque showing 77 mpg v. an actual 67 mpg.

Re: Torque Lite - Android app
One of the benefits of the paid version is there's a means to modify how the mileage is calculated, similar to the scanguage. The multiplier is typically set at 1.0, but I've found for the Sedona it needs to be at .9 or .87.
It still doesn't fix the engine off issues, however.

Re: Torque Lite - Android app
Recent update on the pro version. Don't know how much was there before, but looks like more and custom pids available, and an Eco widget. Set up some new displays and will try it tomorrow.

Re: Torque Lite - Android app
Sounds like Lite won't work for a diesel. Pro sounds good though, think it can read EGT and boost on the TDI.

Re: Torque Lite - Android app
Eco widget is interesting. Starts of as a tree with buds. Buds grow based on driving style I guess. Thought for sure the van would kill the tree, but somehow I got up to 'eco warrior' status so far.
