Sickening. I just saw this chevy commercial on tv. These two guys are sitting outside drinking coffee or something at some food place. Anyways a big black shiny tahoe parallel parks infront of them and one guy goes "Isn't that just like the Tahoe you got?" And then the he says yeah and something else, and then he goes "And it gets good gas mileage too!, that's why I got it" Then the other guy goes, "Maybe next time I should let you get the bill"
Damn, wtf. I'm sure I screwed up that conversation some, but wtf, you do not buy a Tahoe for good gas mileage. He must have been implying good gas mileage for its class, but whatever. If you're buying a motor vehicle for its gas mileage you'd be ending up with something like a prius.

Hi Justin:
___I have not seen that commercial yet but I guess the marketer’s inside and outside of GM think they are smarter than the average dolt on the street? As the sales of the FSP’s fall like a stone …
___I have seen a few other similar commercials as well? The Kia Sportage commercial with the theme music “Run boy run boy …” and an EPA of 21 mpg combined with the I4 and an Auto. Kia must have been so embarrassed by it they didn’t bother to place the FE numbers up on the screen
___Good Luck

I remember the Kia Spectra commercial about getting such good gas mileage that you would end up forgetting what side the tank was on due to the infrequent amount of time you go to the gas station. Anyways when I rented the car it was on E at 310 miles just like it usually is in my wrx, (currently at 360 and 1/4 left) but to top it off, the fuel gauge has a little arrow pointing to what side the gas tank is on. Talk about a mis-leading commercial.

Was Joe Izuzu in the commercial?

Re: That's why I got a Tahoe, it gets good gas mileage.
Lets see,I have a Prius, and a Suburban. I thought just one got good gas mileage.Come to find out I have two economical vehicles.I'm much happier now.I guess that $25.45 I paid two days ago to go 95.6 miles was some sort of hallucination.

I saw another horrid Commercial for the Armada (Nissan's Tahoe). Anyway it had this Dad playing with his 4 year old son doing all the things his child was so envious of. Hitting the ball out of the park, reaching the top shelf of the book case, lifting a large something to somewhere. Then the announcer comes in:
Quote:
|
When your a Dad, your big, real big. That's why we made the Armada. It's big... Dad big

WTF! My son won't love me unless I get your fracking SUV! Any insecurity is solved by an SUV. How about investing in some self esteem.
Unbelievable.

It's all about the marketing. Like that really matters to people with half a brain. But it actually does sell to the ones that don't. I get a kick out of the Little 5 foot nothing, little big men that have to buy a 1 ton pickup, just to feel big. In a few months, they won't be able to afford to drive it, with the current gas price rise. Then who's laughing?

Wouldn't one of the worst jobs now be marketing guzzlers such as the Tahoe? It's glory days are over and they ain't comin' back. Nobody is going to make an ad for that vehicle that's going to get rave reviews from here.

A two page ad in Runner's World, May 2008 issue, pages 18 and 19.
"Introducing the Green Car of the Year"
The 2008 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid.
The two page photo is the SUV in a green forest!
