Prius Grille Block by hybrideffects.com
I installed my hybrideffects.com grille block today. I noticed a quicker warm up, but the normal operating temperature remained at 186F at 48F ambient. It is raining here so I can't quantify any FE gains at this point.

Looks good. Is he considering making a block for the upper grill as well. I have all of the slots except for the very bottom one stuffed with pipe insulation and it doesn't look as good as what you have.

There has been some discussion about an upper block. If you want one, let him know. He will make it if there is enough demand.

A couple of questions: 1) How much did that piece cost? 2) How does it attach to the car?
I may have to look into the possibility of an upper block. I even have a piece of foam in the gap between the hood and grill. It seems to keep everything nice and toasty warm for those long sub-freezing FAS's with everything blocked off.

Close up Pictures and pricing here:
http://www.hybrideffects.com/catalog...ects/pd1271677
They are for sale now. I used a bead of clear RTV for installation.
As soon as it stops raining here I will get a better idea about any FE benefits. In the morning my water temp usually takes 5 minutes to reach 157F. Now it takes 3 1/2 minutes. FE in the first 5 minutes went from 45 to 50MPG. So far the warmest ambient has been 55F and I show no difference in max water temp, 186F.

Re: Prius Grille Block by hybrideffects.com
Dan, and anyone else considering this...
I've been blocking upper and lower grills for some time now. I use CAN-View and have the ability to carefully monitor MG temps, Inverter temps, and the ICE temp. At PriusChat I posted a thread about some temp ranges where I suggest caution when using grill blocking. Now, if you're not using any upper grill blocking it may not be an issue except in the hottest of weather where Inverter temps may become an issue.
Please review that thread carefully.

Re: Prius Grille Block by hybrideffects.com
Very nice looking setup. Do my eyes deceive me or is that an 'Eaton' parking tab hanging from the mirror? We end up using a fair amount of Eaton equipment at work, mostly 600v and below switchgear, panels, UPS equipment, busduct, and some MV gear.
