Great Run Coming to End....

About three weeks ago, I started a new trip and got 98.9mpg over the first 141 miles. Managed to keep it at 78mpg at almost 1,500 miles, then things caved in. Monday there were a lot of wrecks (even though a lot of people were off), then Wednesay people return to work and early morning rains created a lot of serious wrecks. It was a crawl in Lewisville, as the freeway was blocked due to several people being airlifted to the ICU, with a fatality.

I'm about 1/4 way through a great tank as well, but like yourself never know what might happen. Did you finish that tank yet?
Those Insight numbers are really fantastic!

Re: Great Run Coming to End....

Actually I set it between tanks (1,500 miles for the trip). Never run an Insight dry, but 10-12 gallons would be consumed and to do this trip on one tank I'd need 150mpg. Have 3-4 gallons left.

This is the article on the accident that injured six, killed a child > http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13715799/
Someone tried to flee the accident. Read about a lot of people fleeing - is it drugs? being drunk? running from a previous crime? temporary insanity?

Just read the news on that accident. There went a young life.

Re: Great Run Coming to End....

Tiger,

Best guess just from knowing I35 in Lewisville is it's where country traffic turning into urban traffic (in daytime rush hour, go back 15 miles to Denton). Also could have been a drunk or someone else that should not have been on the road at 3:30am....

Re: Great Run Coming to End....

Better news - after going down to 77.0mpg, it's climbing again. I was figuring my mpg after the first 141 miles on the highway was 75 or less....
