Re: Week of August 27th - September 2nd (Nat Avg: $3.77)
Woot for Larry!
Gord, crazy numbers man. Makes me feel bad
last night:
work->home:
- 62.5 / 13.4 miles (95F NE@13 gusting to 17 MPH with a cross wind)
FCD = 58.8 (+0.1)
We have 1.5" of rain on the ground so far
home->work:
- 46.1 / 13.1 miles (72F NNE@12 gusting to 20 MPH) with heavy rain and standing water on the roads.) - Almost cost $1.00 to drive to work this morning Usually it as around 70 cents.
FCD = 58.4 (-0.4) But we really need the rain so, I will suck it up, well at the least I home the land will
tank:
8.35 gals used
472.0 miles driven
about 2/10 left in the tank.

Re: Week of August 27th - September 2nd (Nat Avg: $3.77)
My wife drove us last night so no further numbers. I'm at the State Fair today so no driving as we took the bus.
Well done Larry and Gord!!
Jason just remember that no one has identical conditions to contend with and he's got you at a disadvantage with that lower displacement engine, too. You're doing fantastic!

Re: Week of August 27th - September 2nd (Nat Avg: $3.77)
They put the Si badge on a 1.2L?!! Our Fit only comes with a 1.5L. They just "upgraded" our Civic Si to 2.4L. Even the old 90's CRX Si had a 1.6 while the others had a 1.5L.

Re: Week of August 27th - September 2nd (Nat Avg: $3.77)
Honda have just released a new Jazz Si version in the UK based on a 1.4 engine. Like ours, it has slightly different suspension setup but also a body kit but other than a few badges it's unchanged from rest of range. Same FE and performance.
Our Jazz S is a 1246cc whereas the Jazz Si is an 1198cc and has slightly better FE than the 'larger' engine .
Like Andrew said you are doing great Jason. I can't keep these numbers up all the time.
We have to have lower displacement in the UK due to the price of fuel

Re: Week of August 27th - September 2nd (Nat Avg: $3.77)
I had a pretty good trip home from work this afternoon. It was 88F and, despite a pesky headwind from the SW@ 15 mph (gusts to 20+), I did okay.
135.8 11.8
131.3 11.9
Day Total: 133.5mpg over 23.7 miles. The tank is holding steady from this morning's bump at 130.1 over 808.9 miles. Half way to my goal!

Re: Week of August 27th - September 2nd (Nat Avg: $3.77)
300 miles in the last 2 days in the xB, 150 per day. Averaging over 42 mpgs both days. Going to be a good tank too. At 480 + miles on it so far, heading for a 500+ mile tank easy.
After the wifes disastrous 23 mpgs in it while I was gone last week I was concerned something was wrong.
Took it back to gas station and retopped off the tank so I could have a total fill up to total fill up check of the mileage.

Keep it up James and Larry!
No driving for me Sunday, we had some friends round for a BBQ. Eldest daughter (learning to drive) took us all to my parents house on Saturday for evening meal in her Jazz, 5UP + dog, 9.2 miles total, 55.2mpg.

Gord, just curious. What do you mean by the word BBQ? It has various meanings in various places. Here in Texas is usually means ribs or brisket smoked for 12+ hours and served with a side of potato salad and/or coleslaw.

 Didn't think about that one! In the UK many people enjoy a barbeque where we cook various food outdoors (back yard / garden / when camping etc.) using either charcoal or using a canister with liquid propane (what I have) or butane gas or even a brick built grill.
In the UK, Australia and Europe, barbeque means grilling in the US.
We tend to do chicken, sausages, lamb or beef shish kebabs, burgers, home grown vegetables on skewers and baste the food with various sauces, some spicy. I don't do much pork. I sometimes do sweetcorn and fish (salmon, tuna, etc.). I have a range style barbeque on wheels.
We serve it with home grown boiled potatoes, salad and coleslaw.

Grilling. Equally tasty, just different.
In Aussie-land they use a flat plate grill, so it's more like frying on a skillet.
