Preliminary Hyundai July 2012 Sales Release...

Hi All:

In what is becoming the norm for Hyundai USA, North American CEO John Krafcik gave us a sneak peek at tomorrows final sales results with the following tweet:

If only Hyundai had more production capacity.

Re: Preliminary Hyundai July 2012 Sales Release...

Production capacity is the issue. Dealers around here actually wait for cars.

And what is most amazing is that Hyundai is selling all they can build without any serious incentives. Their "low interest" offer isn't all that low, and a $500 Eco Trade bonus on a Sonata isn't much compared to the $5000+ I see promised in local ads on some midsize cars. The benefit to those who purchase is higher resale value, as long as Hyundai sticks to their current strategy of selling "value" instead of "low cost".

You don't need incentives when you have such a clear price advantage. Darn impressive line-up and the public is starting to embrace this as quality car company.

That's a bummer for me.
Back in '08 I got a steal on an '07 with 12K miles on it. I think I paid $5K less than a comparable new car would have gone for.
Now I'd be lucky to save half that much in the same situation..

Re: Preliminary Hyundai July 2012 Sales Release...

Hi Tom:

While the savings of yesteryear may be gone, the quality and features of the latest Hyundai’s (and Kia's) are an order of magnitude better than just a generation ago. From the Accent, Elantra and Sonata to the current Rio and Optima and upcoming Forte’, Hyundai/Kia have come a long way.

The final July sales report is located here: Hyundai July 2012 Sales up 4.1%
