Re: Week of July 16th - July 22nd, 2012 (Nat Avg: $3.42)
Saturday evening drive with the family.
Ice cream store and then a 40-45 mph drive in the country.
95F warm breeze. Just after sunset and the a lot of deer out. No range anxiety but plenty of deer anxiety.
21.1 mi @ 128.53 wh/mi = 261.1 MPGe
Larry that station must have more customers than you. Do you get the pure stuff there?

It is indeed where the good gas is. It isn't actually a typical retail station, it's a set of unmanned pumps at a fuel distribution company. I have a special coded key that gives me access 24/7. And yeah, if I were their only customer, they'd be in sad shape no more often than I go there.

Doesn't look like you are having any trouble meeting that goal, Larry.
Mike, sounds like a nice outing!! We have to watch for the deer around here in the evening, too.

Re: Week of July 16th - July 22nd, 2012 (Nat Avg: $3.42)
Closed the week with a grind-like 60km 2-up trip with 22km in-city.
Trip meter is at 368km.
Started in a cool and overcast 17C (63F) or similar, finished in a sunny and much warmer 24C (75F). Got vegetables from my mom, then shopped until the top case became full...

Re: Week of July 16th - July 22nd, 2012 (Nat Avg: $3.42)
I like the trend, Gord!
I drove out to dinner tonight to celebrate the birthday of my wife's grandfather (86). We stopped at Costco to pick up some pictures on the way there -- I just waited in the car with the AC running for the kids. On the way back I ended up leaving them in the car to drop of the photos so the numbers are a bit lower than they could have been.
AC was used for all the driving today.
88F (95F heat index), 11mph wind from the WSW, partly cloudy:
- 4.7mpk over 10.4mi --> 157.7 MPGe (Home to Costco and then to the restaurant)
- 5.5mpk over 7.8mi --> 184.6 MPGe (Restaurant to home)
Day Total: 5.0mpk over 18.2mi --> 167.8 MPGe
Tot. Use: 3.6 kWh
Adj. Cost: $0.56

Re: Week of July 16th - July 22nd, 2012 (Nat Avg: $3.42)
Thanks Sean. Still great numbers - the kids need AC more than you!
86 is a great age - my father-in-law in 80 next month!
No driving for me Sunday but sat as a passenger for eldest daughter out for a driving lesson in her '05 Jazz / Fit.
She's doing really well and understands DFCO now - she calls it free miles when she lifts off to go down a hill . Showed her how to DWL too and she doesn't like to stop which helps! Instead of just driving around we did something with the trip and drove to a supermarket to do some recycling of glass bottles, buy some provisions and fill her car up with gas:
60.3 / 14.3 To supermarket and gas station
57.7 / 14.0 Home
I need to work out what she's done on the tank, it's better than what my wife used to get

Re: Week of July 16th - July 22nd, 2012 (Nat Avg: $3.42)
Weekend wrapup:
94.6 / 10.6 - home friday night. Would have been a record before this week.
105 degrees Saturday
97.2 / 8.5 - Saturday to Lowes for mower parts
176 / 0.4 - across the street to Walmart for Ody oil change supplies (M1 5-20 and purolater filter $5)
84.3 / 2.0 - to sears for mower oil filter $12. ??? What? A briggs v-twin filter costs more than double a premium Honda filter?
93.6 / 8.5 - home
The tank went up to 91.5 / 372 mi with those errands. I love it when that happens.
