load/lod - am I missing something?
I can't seem to get load past 40 in my van. Am I misunderstanding something? After riding around with the guys at the Chicago Auto show, and reading here, I am understanding that load/lod should be above 70 for decent p&g. But I can't get the load that high on the van. Take off from a stop and even with tps at 80 + lod only gets to 40 ish. And accelerating that hard its time to mash the brake before I see any benefit.
No problem in the Scion.

Try putting in a support request at Linear Logic. They are really responsive.

Re: load/lod - am I missing something?
Not just per SG readings. Matched it with the torque app last couple days. Both read real close for lod at the same time.

Re: load/lod - am I missing something?
Does it give you a MAP reading? That can be a substitute when LOD doesn't work. Roughly, 14.x (depends on elevation) MAP = max LOD. For P&G I like ~85 LOD = 12/13 psi MAP.

Re: load/lod - am I missing something?
I think it does. Thanks I look at that when I drive it tomorrow. Trying to stay inside and hide from the 100+ degrees today.

Re: load/lod - am I missing something?
A few vehicles seem to report LOD differently than the norm. My gas Jetta would never read above 40-45 if the revs were under 2000 or so, even if I put my foot all the way to the floor. Only if you revved it would the numbers going higher. If you did floor it at 2000rpm, the LOD number would climb with the revs, eventually topping out at 99 only when reached it high RPM.
I think the difference is that it was reporting "% of total possible load at any RPMs" rather than "% of total possible load at current RPMs". Your vehicle may work similarly. I ended up using the GPH and TPS gauges more than the LOD gauge with that car.
Curiously, our diesel Golf reports LOD in the more conventional way.

Re: load/lod - am I missing something?
I was wrong, no MAP reading. Unless its called intake manifold psi.

Re: load/lod - am I missing something?
Oh. Hmmm... It must be a MAF (air flow instead of pressure) engine then. I don't know what to do about that.

MAP stands for Manifold Absolute Pressure. Sounds like you've found it to me.
