Anyone running Enginer successfully?

I'm hot for a plug-in but can't afford a Leaf for PIP at the moment. My commute is 15 miles, ave speed 20 mph, I have excess solar power at home and I can plug in at work.

Thinking a used Gen2 Prius with and 2 kWh Enginer might do the trick. Anyone running this set up successfully? Will I use the full 2 kWh pack on one leg of my commute?

I am pretty good at tinkering but I do enough of that at work so I prefer my vehicle to just get me there and back with minimal fuss. Seems from the threads I read that Enginer kits required a lot of hands-on TLC. Yes?
