we have a sign here on the way to my work that had me wondering what the realy dangers are that are lurking. The sign reads:

BRIDGE CLOSING FOR REHAB
STARTING JUNE 6TH

I am just glad that and intervention was held and it can get clean and sober soon ;-)

Jesse saw this accident waiting to happen at 65 + mph on I-90 WB near Upton, MA.

In the case of Lobster Trap Inc, any advertising must be good advertising? Even if that means someday a whole truckload of Lobster’s will be strewn across the Interstate and a number of injuries will have occurred in the process?

I-95 NB near Sharon, MA at 60 to 65 + mph in winter driving conditions.

I have a buddy of mine that just got his CDL. As soon as he finishes his training he can get take a passenger with him. I am hoping to take him up on this offer and ride with him for a week. Should be an interesting experience. I will try to get some pics/vids if I can and post them here.

It does NOT require 60+ mph for a hazard. All it takes is a cell phone or Ipad ... the best I can tell.

In the last 4 years I have been rear-ended twice while stopped.

The first, we were at full stop at the rear of line of traffic waiting for the green light.

The most recent, a little over a year ago, we were stopped on GREEN waiting for an ambulance entering the intersection with full lights and siren. To my knowledge ... this was a first ... the ambulance arrived on the accident scene before the accident. They simply turned arround, picked up my wife, and took her to the hospital. Fortunately, injuries were minimal. A second ambulance was dispatched to the original call.

Otherwise accident free for years.

But, as others have said ... drive defensively to the best of your ability ... whether moped or all the way up to a big rig.

One weird accident I saw on US183 in Austin Texas was an E250 passenger van converted to a convertable in about 0.3 seconds. The E250 was stopped for a red light at the bottom of a relatively long grade. A VERY LARGE mobile drilling rig was unable to stop and simply over-ran the E250 sheering the roof off, including the windows, all the way to the back of the front seats (within a couple of inches). Strange sight to see. Apparently nobody was injured in the E250 ... but I'll bet they never felt "safe" again ... even in large vehicles.

Just experiences and observations ...

That last one sounds like a horrible one and fortunately only front passengers were inside and fortunately the drilling rig truck stopped just prior to taking their heads off!

And in our latest, does the utility truck operator really believe he can make more money by trying to park in the bed of the Ford F-150 just ahead of him?

60 + mph on I-495 S in MA near exit 30.

I find a perverse pleasure in slowing down for tailgaters...the physics of course being that I'm trying to compensate for both mine AND their stopping distance ahead of me

The Bridge has completely been removed and sent to rehab now

However, I think it was a miss working as I think they have intent to REPLACE the bridge.

This was taken on the way to MN last week end. This was typicall of long streaches between Iowa and MN (along I35). This is not 60 MPH but rather 80+ MPH. There were about 10 cars infront of the F150 and about 10 more on his rear all with less than 1 sec distance between them.

At least there were no Big rigs in the mix at this point.

There were only about a hand full of RV's, Trucks or other cars that i passed during the 1400 mile RT. Most were blowing my doors off as i set the CC to 66 on the PSL of 70. This included everything from Motorcycles, Pirus, RV's and 18 wheelers. So sad.
